China to tighten control of speculative investment in

housing

【2011年5月26日】          作者:

China's real estate market regulations have locked on to its latest target.

The new policies will put stricter control on speculative investments such as ones which may be quickly turned around to make easy money. According to Shanghai Securities News, such practices will be "swept clean" from the market if they are found.

Recent measures from the State Council to strengthen real estate market regulations seem to have been effective. But Ni Hong of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development said Tuesday, there is still a lack of data which determines the new policy's real achievements the newspaper reported.

Ni said housing market regulations are designed to balance the supply and demand, keep prices consistent and wipe out speculative investments. They also help coordinate economic and social development with the development of the housing industry, Ni added.
